Thoughts from the Right Side
Written by Marshall Miller, Lilburn
Only about five percent of U.S. Congress members have served in the military. Ron Paul has, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have not. It's easy to send others into foreign hellholes. If we are going to continue these winless endless wars we need to bring back war bonds. Anyone out there remember those ?
> " How far the President will go depends of course on how much resistance he meets. But the direction in which he is trying to go tells us more than all his rhetoric or media spin." - Thomas Sowell column 10-28-09 on GunOwners.org TSowell.com : two great sites
> It can be hazardous to follow the lead of the media left. Remember back in 2007-08 when liberal Republican Rudy Giuliani was the media heartthrob? He was dubbed the man to win it for the Republicans, a "can't miss" candidate. He faded quickly, of course.
Rudy claimed he could "compete with Hillary Clinton in the blue states." Of course neither person had the chance to make it to the November ballot. The O Man, the 57 states media creation, rode his teleprompter all the way to the White House. Rudy G was just another media candidate who fizzled out quickly, sort of like the baseball spring training phenom who got cut from the squad as soon as the season opened. Beware media candidates. Howard Dean and Colin Powell are two more examples.
Astute VDare.com writer Joe Gizzardi figured Giuliani out early on, back in 2007.
"From the beginning, Giuliani has been a questionable G.O.P. presidential candidate.
Not only is Giuliani a former Democrat (from New York City, don't forget!) but he is also a pro-choice, gay rights advocate with a personal life that is unbecoming, to put it delicately, for the 'family values' party."- Joe Guzzardi on VDare.com 8-24-07
As it played out, "frontrunner" Rudy spent around $50 million to win exactly one delegate (in Nevada) before dropping out of the 2008 race. He would have been an easy target for the Democrat-medialeft attack machine in November with no chance of winning. Naturally, the media claimed the opposite. VDare.com has great analysts. Have you ever seen Joe Guzzardi or Steve Sailer (iSteve.com) on television, even on Fox Network News? Neither have I. These folks are much better than the ones the media spoon feed to you - guaranteed. Check out VDare.com and you will see something the media windbags would rather you not know about.
> A suggested improvement for the U.S. Congress :" The country would be much better off if they kept us at home and not let us vote on anything." - U.S. Senator Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma)
Tom Coburn is a medical doctor.
> " Each party wants you to think the other party is very bad, while minimizing any substantive differences with it." - Joseph Sobran 7-8-04 Sobran.com
> A simple and workable tax reform would be lowering the rate to broaden the base. A flat tax of 18 percent or so with no deductions would be great. The optional simplified tax could be filled out on a postcard. File under the new flat plan or continue to use the present system - your choice. Steve Forbes the financial magazine publisher proposed this in 1996 and 2000 and it went nowhere. I voted for him. It also exempted the first $36,000 of income from all taxation and it partially privatized Social Security. I voted for him. He would have been great.
> BeyondthePolls.net says Republican Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia is the leading candidate to be the next Ron Paul. Good for him. Both are medical doctors and both have served in the military, unlike 95 percent of their congressional colleagues.. Ron Paul's toll-free message number is 1-888-322-1414, updated weekly. In a November 12th 90 minute debate in South Carolina, CBS allowed Dr. Paul 89 seconds to speak. The day after Veterans Day the Air Force veteran flight surgeon got less than 1 1/2 minutes in 1 1/2 hours. Why do Republicans allow a hostile media to control the debates anyway? They are always moderated by liberals who hate Republicans. No good can come of this. For a good video type in "James Williams and Ron Paul."

> Most Americans opposed Obamacare but every Democrat in the Senate voted for it. Democrats are the out of touch party. They always know what is good for you, actually good for themselves.
